The hotel
The building on Via S. Giovanni Bosco, with its hedge and Japanese maple. The mountain starts right behind it.
We are in the centre of Gardone Val Trompia, on a quiet street about twenty kilometres up the valley from Brescia. The building has not changed: the family has been running the hotel for fifty years. In front there is a free, open and very large car park — you will find a space even arriving late in the evening, which is what people travelling for work almost always ask about.
The garden
The fountain, the olive tree, the plants. This is where people sit at the end of the day.
The garden is private and it gets used: people coming back from the site or the plant stop here before going up to their room. There is the olive tree, the fountain, plants looked after one by one. It is not a passage yard — it is the part of the hotel we are proudest of.
The porch
At the entrance, in the shade, with tables.
The porch at the entrance is covered and shaded, with armchairs and small tables. It works for the after-dinner work call, or simply for sitting outside when the valley gets hot. Above it is the sign with the three stars.
The rooms
Single, double and twin. All renovated, all with a private bathroom.
The rooms have been renovated: single, double for single use, double and twin. All of them have a private bathroom, Wi-Fi, TV, telephone and a desk — the desk matters, because many guests work in the evening. Rooms are cleaned daily. Some have air conditioning, a small terrace or a safe: not all of them, so tell us when you book and we will give you the right one.
Breakfast and the bar
The room where breakfast is served in the morning, and the bar.
Breakfast is included in the room rate, always, all year round: cappuccino, pastry, yoghurt, juice. If you are used to something more substantial there is a proper English breakfast — eggs, bacon, beans, sausage — as an extra. The bar is inside and stays open in the evening: it is where you end up talking to Andrea, who is always the one at the desk.
